SC issues notices on Justice Dogar’s petition
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notices on a constitutional petition filed by Justice (r) Abdul Hameed Dogar against the Federation of Pakistan and others. According to a Supreme Court press release, the petition had been fixed for hearing in chamber on November 5 or soon thereafter as may be convenient to the court, in the courthouse at Islamabad. Earlier on October 28, the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office had returned two of three petitions filed by Justice Dogar after raising technical objections. The first petition had sought reversal of Supreme Court’s July 31 ruling declaring Justice Dogar’s incumbency as chief justice of Pakistan unconstitutional. The second petition had challenged the reinstatement of judges and the third one was a reply to the contempt notice issued to Justice Dogar. staff report
